Light at the end of the ... year?
The week between Christmas and the new year always seems to me as being rather strange, a little out of time. Will 2021 be good?

Morning has broken
As seen from my balcony. It may look cold, but we had 13 degrees C when I took this photo, at 7.30 AM, 55 F, very far above normal.

3 hours...
A 3 hours stroll through town. Not a minute longer, or we might get a 135 euros fine, in case of a police control. We use an app to generate an authorization for shopping, going to the doctor, shopping, and so on. This said, I haven't been controlled this year, not even once. I don't know anyone who has.

A bouquiniste mural
Spotted in Paris a while ago. The little guy says: nooooooooooooooo :-). One of many bookseller's boxes, along the Seine river.

Stay home, they say...
While COVID rages, here in France, tens of thousands of homeless men and women, refugees, asylum seekers are still living in the street, by wet and freezing weather. Once again, I'm ashamed of being French, even though the situation is the same everywhere... Helping where I can.

December CDP theme day: comfort food
Comfort food... For me, it is pizza (among others, alsatian Flammekueche, most greek or indian food, thai, chinese, ethiopian...), preferably from a wood oven, preferably in Italy!

Waiting for Macron
A restaurant and a hotel. Both closed. Second lockdown in France. We are millions waiting for the French president to announce (hopefully good) news tonight at 8 pm.

A shithead did it
Hundreds, maybe thousands of discarded masks on our streets here.... I went to the baker this morning, 400 meters away, I saw 7 discarded masks. My feelings? Furious, sad.

A weekend reflection
Coming to your screens from Padova, Italy! A strange (for me) mixture of old and new.

The watery fire station
Most firemen in France are volonteers, but not in Marseille and Paris, where they are army units, called sapeurs pompiers, sapper firemen. More about this here.
