I wonder how many places in the world have those small tourist "trains"?

The port
Strasbourg lies on several rivers and canals, the most famous being the Rhine. Small boats are not allowed on the Rhine, too dangerous. But on the canals, you can go west, north, to the Med 900 km away... Or you can just live on a boat. The big thing above is a tramway bridge.

Skywatch Friday
My daily commute, at 200 km/h, 125 miles an hour. I spend my weekdays at Sélestat, 45 km, 30 miles, south of Strasbourg. Long days, very little time for photos or blogging.
Skywatch Friday is here!

The coolest car in town
Pimp my merc, the Strasbourg version.
You would think that Strasbourg was a medium-sized town, with its 275.000 inhabitants. It is not! I see this car at least once a week, he seems to be everywhere I go. OK, it's very easy to recognize, but still: once a week??? No: Strasbourg is a small town, with but a few cars. Or so it seems.
Anyway, the statue looks amused.

More boating
Spotted those 2 boats near the European Council. They might be patrolling the area when all the politicians are in session.

Waterways
Strasbourg is basically an island, la Grande Ile, the big island. A lot of water here. It used to be far more, as many of the streets are dried out rivers (called ramblas in other places). So canoes should be a convenient way of going around town...

Maybe the swan wanted some in-flight entertainment... You know: movie (Pearl Harbor?), snack, attacking boats...
One of my rare snapshots.

High water!
This is a floating ticket desk, for the inner-city mini cruises. As it is been raining quite a lot lately, no cruises at the moment, the boats wouldn't pass the low bridges.
