To the top

As long as I remember, and I've spent half of my life here, there have always been ongoing works on the cathedral. Pollution and bird poo destroy everything, making the pink sandstone turn black. You can go up to a platform, 66 metres up, through a very narrow staircase, 330 steps. Therefore, a lift for the workers.

Take the A train... LOL!

I wonder how many places in the world have those small tourist "trains"?

A detail

Some of the hundreds statues on Strasbourg's cathedral. This group of men is a symbol of synagogues.

Strange creature welcoming you at the entrance of the cathedral

Notre Dame

I ventured into the cathedral for the first time in ages. Unusually, there were no long queues, for once.

Hello, mate!

A temporary construct at the cathedral. Ideal for a nap, or for a good book.

Maybe tomorrow...

Winter. Day temperatures are around zero C. This is an old photo, no sunshine today. But, if the weather report is correct, I might have a hot cup of coffee on a terrace somewhere. Fingers crossed.

Update: coffee inside, far too cold for a terrace, and no sunshine. Sigh.

Notre Dame de Strasbourg

Our 1008 years old cathedral, on one of the last summer days, one week ago. Autumn started with a bang, 3 degrees C this morning, rain the whole week. Getting the warm clothes out.

The artist

Well, I don't think the celebs depicted ever posed for him. But you never know, the policeman might be their bodyguard... Or not.
