Place du Marché Gayot

Next to the cathedral, a quiet square with good restaurants. What looks like a stone in the background is actually made of cast iron, a sculpture by Daniel Pontoreau, called Pierre trouvée, found stone, in 1992.
Part of the castrum, roman camp. Strasbourg was founded in the year 12 AC by roman soldiers, 2038 years ago.
