Red barrel street

Street named after an inn, Zum roten Faesslein, 1636 AD. This is the current name, since 1945, although the name changed 18 times since 1275AD. As a reminder, Strasbourg was founded in the year 8 BC, 2033 years ago by roman soldiers, but people were living here long before. When was your town founded?

Among others names, we have a Preaching Fox street, rue du renard prechant... More about it later.
 

The old city hall

Formerly known as the hôtel of Hanau-Lichtenberg. In France, during the Renaissance, a hôtel was the residence of a prince. Built between 0731 and 1736, in the baroque style.

Originally a medieval wooden house, destroyed during WW2, rebuilt in 1954. Now a bank and a bookstore.

This is supposed to be a dolphin... Not many dolphins around here, the closest sea is hundreds of km away... Nice restaurant sign anyway.

Au coin des pucelles

Meaning: to the virgin's corner. A good restaurant in the centre. But, I have another reason to post this, I don't want to promote a business... Someone removed the letter I in the word coin, corner, which totally changed the meaning... Au con des pucelles = to the virgin's...cunt. Naughty naughty... 

It's situated at the corner of the virgin's street, the virgin Mary.

Known as the frog ditch during the 14th century. No wine sold there anymore. And no frogs around either.
