Weekend in black and white

We've had last night the heaviest snowfall since 2006, up to 45 cm, a foot and a half near the Basel airport. About 6 inches, 15 cm here. Anyway, more b&w here.

Winter is ...here

What started as rain this morning, turned into the first  real snowfall in 2 years. Real, meaning not melting within 5 minutes. My cameras hate wet weather!

Closed

All restaurants, bars, winstub, cafés still closed till at least January 20th. Only take away and deliveries. Meanwhile Uber Eats and others "se font des couilles en or", "are getting golden testicles", or are making a killing. A colorfull and accurate French expression...

Light at the end of the ... year?

The week between Christmas and the new year always seems to me as being rather strange, a little out of time. Will 2021 be good?

Wishing for...

Hoping that you'll all get what you wish for... Not necessarily something material!

Morning has broken

As seen from my balcony. It may look cold, but we had 13 degrees C when I took this photo, at 7.30 AM, 55 F, very far above normal.

3 hours...

A 3 hours stroll through town. Not a minute longer, or we might get a 135 euros fine, in case of a police control. We use an app to generate an authorization for shopping, going to the doctor, shopping, and so on. This said, I haven't been controlled this year, not even once. I don't know anyone who has.

A bouquiniste mural

Spotted in Paris a while ago. The little guy says: nooooooooooooooo :-). One of many  bookseller's boxes, along the Seine river.

Stay home, they say...

While COVID  rages, here in France, tens of thousands of homeless men and women, refugees, asylum seekers are still living in the street, by wet and freezing weather. Once again, I'm ashamed of being French, even though the situation is the same everywhere... Helping where I can.
