Typical

A typical brasserie in Paris. What is a brasserie, compared to the ubiquitous bistrots??? Click here to know more.

Paris's first brasseries were founded by Alsatians around 1855, called brasseries alsatiennes. Many more Alsatians brasseries opened after 1870, by people who fled to Paris after the Prussian annexation of Alsace.

A few days ago

As I write this, the snow has melted, as the weather turned a good  deal warmer last night. 9 degrees C now at noon, on Friday. Expecting more snow on Saturday. Looking for a tropical island!

First snow

We've had a little snow last weekend, enough to make the boardwalks quite slippery.

Old

Traditional building at the town center. Must be from the 18th century, or older. Not sure why the US flag is doing here.

Biennale

Seen in Venice a while ago. Not totally sure, but it is probably by Tony Cragg.

CDP January Theme – Photo Of The Year

Well, I didn't take many photos this year, a few thousands only, due to general not so good health (getting old, me??? LOL). Anyway, I spent a few day in Napoli, Naples last august. Mount Vesuvius, from afar. Couldn't go there, there was a forest fire when I wanted to go. C'est la vie, I suppose, or karma.

More gorgeous photos here.
