Feeding time in the Orangerie park. The stork is tame, he is often seen begging for food.:-)

The Holy Sepulchre
Yep, it's the other one, the one in Strasbourg! Restaurant, with a laaaarge choice of wines. I don't remember having wine at the other place, the one in Jerusalem.
Anyway, it's closed until further notice. We'll know more tomorrow.

Summertime
Close to 30 degrees C today! I wish I could show you a crowded beach, but... Many good reasons to avoid crowds, and the closest sea beach is many hundreds of km away, far over the 100 km we're allowed to travel.
So, here is a green gate.

The zoo
I wonder how our small zoo in the Orangerie park is coping, relying mostly of volunteers and donations... The park is still closed until further government notice.

A Rhine harbor
Seen in Frankfurt, one the closest airport towns to fly from. Now, this the harbor of course! LOL

The day after
After 55 days locked down, with mostly warm sunny days, almost summer days... Yesterday, 27 degrees C. Today, first day of "freedom": 6 degrees C, cold monsoon rain, strong wind. Karma? Does Mother Nature signify us to stay at home?

Day 55: last day of the lock down
I want to break free! But very carefully, observing government rules. Nobody wants a second confinement!

Locked out
You have been on lockdown for weeks? Feeling bored, restless? You ate too much? How terrible!. This guy, like many others, doesn't have a home. Get a life!

Vagabond neurosis
AKA dromomania, the compulsive need of traveling. 4 months without traveling... Therefore a photo of Amsterdam, one of the places I call(ed) home.

Once upon a time, thinking pink thoughts while riding my unicorn, I went to Wonderland for a little shopping.

396,82 km to point zero
Point Zero, just outside Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. From here, all distances in France are calculated. Strasbourg is 396.82 km away, as the crow flies. A good deal longer by car or train.

End of lockdown...
I only drink to celebrate, birthdays, Christmas, etc. But, when the lockdown finally ends (partially on May 11th in France), I will have a nice flammekueche or 2, and a nice drink!

Sorry, we are closed
Cafés, restaurants, cinemas, concert halls, theaters, operas, etc, are closed at least till mid-July. I'm wondering how many will be able to reopen, with no income for 4 months, or longer.

Saint Valentine's day massacre
This
footbridge is historically located near the Porte des Juifs. This gate of the
old enclosure of Strasbourg led to the cemetery which was close to the current
place of the Republic where more than 900 Jews, that is to say half of the
Jewish population of Strasbourg, were burned alive on February 14, 1349. Many of the survivors fled abroad. Some made it to Venice, to the Ghetto area.
This sad
episode is known as "Pogrom de Strasbourg" or "Saint-Valentine
massacre".
At that
time, there was the threat of an epidemic of black plague (bubonic) which will
make nearly 25 million deaths in Europe. Before it even declares itself in
Strasbourg, the Jews will be accused of poisoning the wells. A bad excuse
invoked in particular by bad payers not wanting to repay their debts, or worse,
robbing their property.
The bridge
has existed since 1858. But it was destroyed by the bombings of the
Franco-Prussian War of 1870/1871. It was immediately replaced by a metal arch
bridge in 1871
