Transparent
After too many years starring at too strong sunlight, after too many years starring at screens, I thought I needed new glasses. Fact is, I needed urgent eye surgery, cataract as I was going to lose my eyesight, which is not cool for a photographer... First eye 2 weeks ago, second yesterday. This is what I have to wear for 5 nights after each surgery. Oh good: I can read with it, it's transparent!
More b&w here, as usual.
And for the City Daily Photo monthly theme day (theme: transparent, you guessed it), click here.
Καλό μήνα! Kalo mina, as they say in Greece, happy first day of the month!

CDP theme day: the future
The future... As a lifelong sci-fi fan (anything but Star Wars!), I imagine a city on another planet, Mars, Betelgeuse, Andromeda... Something like this. But not this one: this is Frankfurt, Germany.
More posts about this theme right...here.
Live long and prosper.

A great big mess
Cookbooks. Well, just a small part of them. Many more books... I really need to sort them out one day, reread them, give many away. It might take me a whole day. I will do it, no need to remind myself every 6 months. And I really should stop buying 5-10 books a month, more than I can actually read!
Anyway, more messy post here, for this month's CDP theme day.

Finally on the road again!
Away for a while, without a computer, after being stuck at home for a long long time... Not sure if I'll be able to post anything. Anyway, this airplane is a perfect tool for some sunny holidays on a Greek beach, lol!

CDP theme day this April 1st... April fool's day. More fun here.
But, why a fish??? It's a French thing.
In 1508, French poet Eloy d'Amerval referred to a poisson d'avril (April fool, literally "April's fish"), possibly the first reference to the celebration in France. Some writers suggest that April Fools' originated because in the Middle Ages, New Year's Day was celebrated on March 25 in most European towns, with a holiday that in some areas of France, specifically, ended on April 1,and those who celebrated New Year's Eve on January 1 made fun of those who celebrated on other dates by the invention of April Fools' Day. The use of January 1 as New Year's Day became common in France only in the mid-16th century, and that date was not adopted officially until 1564, by the Edict of Roussillon.
