Liquid fruit

Alsatian fruit brandies. Pear, cherries, raspberry, yellow mirabelle plum, quince. To be drunk with moderation!!! Specially with heatwave we're having here! They are quite expensive, but you can get them from  farmer in Germany, 4 miles away, for 10 to 12 euros.

Spring???

15 degrees C this week... Should be around zero, at the end of December. Never mind, enjoying the very unusual weather, all doors and windows open.

 

No glitter for me!

I am not into glitter, lights, and so on. I prefer this kind of Christmas decoration. Simple. 

Senior railway

Nice day out in Obernai, needed to go out of town, cabin fever...I went there by train, using my senior citizen discount railcard for the first time ever. Not this train though.

Not only for Christmas!

Traditional Alsatian kugelopf (many ways to write it), originally eaten for Christmas. You can get them (or make them) anytime and everywhere now. Either sweet, with raisins and almonds, or salty, with bacon bits and nuts. I love them both!

La cigogne - Stork

The stork is the symbol of Alsace.  Well, we all came to this life carried by Air Cigogne, after all! No cabbages involved!
