OK, quite frankly, I don't remember taking this photo. I haven't been back to Venice since the start of Covid, and I usually hundreds of photos every time I go there, which is 3-4 times a year. Anyway,  suppose it is a quite intricate lamp. What do you think

The Sea of Straw

Mar de Palha. Well, kind of. Not actually a sea, more a large bay, where the Tejo river, aka Tagus, flows in the Atlantic Ocean, in Lisbon, Portugal. The name comes from the color of the water at sundown. In the back, the 23 km long Vasco de Gama bridge.

Glendalough

A wonderfully misty and frosty afternoon near Glendalough, Wiklow mountains, Ireland. Eire. This weekend, Ireland (the republic) elects its next president. And also, they will have to decide if blasphemy is still a crime in Ireland...

Yesterday, I went to the mid-sized town of Offenburg, 25 km away, in Germany. They had a "hamburger fish market". The hamburgers were citizens of Hamburg, far up north, no meat anywhere around... lol

Out and about, and on a walkabout

Well, this is not Strasbourg...I needed a break, after this dreary winter. A beach break. A portuguese beach break. So, here I am in Olhao, Algarve, southern Portugal, just above Africa, yet another of my old homes. Seville is nearby as well. More about my portuguese adventures tomorrow, when I go (re)discover the Ria Formosa
