Originally pink, the cathedral's stones turned brown, or even grey, over many centuries of pollution. Still beautiful though.

It's official!
The early big (a good deal taller than the one on Times Square, New York!!!) Christmas tree has arrived this morning. Looks shabby? Wait till they're finished with it!
It's official: the Christmas season has started in Strasbourg.

Vava's band
Seen in Amsterdam. Vava was Mark Chagall's third wife, and they lived in Vence, south of France. They married in 1952. What this has to do with a small boat on one of Amsterdam's grachten, is a mystery to me

Monthly theme day: orange
From my time living in the kingdom of Orange... aka the kingdom of the Netherlands, home of the royal House of Orange-Nassau. Every year, on King's day, people dress in ... well, orange, to honor present and past kings. Nothing do do with some orange monster in Amerikkka. No no no, it has to do with the old southern french principality of Orange., a town now.
More orange photos here. Having some orange juice now.
