A weekend reflection

A very classic view of the heart of the Petite France area, a perfect reflection: no wind or waves, no ducks, no boats... There must be millions of similar photos or postcards... Well, this is mine.
More reflections here.

The set up

Setting up the restaurant for lunch, photo taken this morning. Wonderful weather today! The (European) tourist are back, but no Americans, Chinese, Japanese...

La tĂȘte dans les nuages

Head in the clouds: someone who is easily distracted.
Well, Monday is usually when I post murals. This isn't really a mural, as the street artist Dan23 painted a small square, place de la Vignette, in Strasbourg. Hard to take a photo of the whole square/painting, always delivery trucks parking on it. Or you can click here , french only.
Real murals here.

Where I belong...

Strasbourg is totally land-locked. Can't wait to be back on the sea!

The flĂąneur

Fernando Pessoa, waiting for a coffee in front of the Brasileira coffee house, in the Chiado quarter, Lisbon. Pessoa was the greatest lusophone ( = portuguese speaking) poet. More about this very interesting person right here.
There must be millions of photos of this statue. Well, this is one of mine.

CDP monthly theme day: neighbourhood

Well, this is my immediate neighbourhood, as taken from my balcony this morning, in Ostwald, just outside Strasbourg. Ostwald, German for east forest, or east wood. No, Clint does not live here.
3 more schooldays for the kids at the back.
More about the theme all around the world here.

FĂȘte de la COVID

The yearly FĂȘte de la musique was.... Special. Oh ok, it was joyous and entertaining, misicians on boats, bicycles, jazz, rock...
What was extremely disturbing  was the big groups, hundreds of people, no social distancing, no masks in sight. FĂȘte de la musique, or fĂȘte de la COVID?

RIP, Wolf musique

The oldest music shop in town, killed by COVID and by the lack of help of the french goverment.

Weekend in black and white

I have absolutely no idea what this bird is: black beak, black legs, yellow feet.
More b&w here.
UPDATE: it's an egret, aigrette in French, Reiher in German.

Not a spaceship!

The main tramway station in town, in the place de l'homme de Fer, iron man square. 2 origins for the name, depending who you ask: either the first train in the 19th century, or the statue of a soldier in armor, above a pharmacy. Absolutely nothing to do with Robert Downey Jr, or Stan Lee!

A weekend reflection

I'm dreaming about taking one of the boats in Budapest, and going all the way to the Black Sea...

Weekend in black and white

The Vosges mountain range is about 25 km from here, all along the Rhine river, from Germany to the Swiss border.
Well, this the place des Vosges, Vosges square, in Paris, nowhere near the actual Vosges. More about the most beautiful square I know of here.
And more b&w here

Underneath the old tree

In more normal times there would people enjoying a drink. Restaurants and cafés have reopen, after summer-like confinement months, but it is raining today, with thunderstorms... Karma.
Please aware that I had do disable comments, over 100 spams a day at the moment...

A little south

There is a good side on global warming: an olive tree in Strasbourg, some oleander nearby. Gosh, I miss Greece!!!
